A Intel Extreme Masters 4 continua agitando a comunidade de Counter-Strike. Mais uma edição do campeonato on-line que decidirá os participantes da Final Continental Europeia começa nesta segunda. São 36 equipes divididas em seis grupos, sendo que apenas o 1º colocado de cada grupo estará classificado para a competição principal. Os segundos e terceiros terão que disputar a Repescagem.
No Grupo A, o renovado Mortal Team Work terá novas oportunidades de avaliar a sua nova line-up que, no dia 10, conquistou a WCG Dinamarca sobre o SoA. O H2K Gaming, que irá jogar com um time modificado, com as entradas temporárias de Jim “zneel” Andersson e Christian “floreNz” Shaha, também terá que provar que continua em alta.
No Grupo B, teremos a oportunidade de assistir à um duelo interessante: os velhos representantes do Meet Your Makers contra os atuais, os poloneses contra os suecos, Filip “Neo” Kubski contra Marcus “zet” Sundström. Spirit of Amiga e Oslo Lions (antes conhecidos como Alchemists) também deverão entrar forte na briga e serão uma “pedra no sapato” dos favoritos.
O Grupo C parece ser mais fácil para o fnatic, que terá que enfrentar a potência espanhola x6tence, os ucranianos do HellRaisers e o Frag eXecutors, que, depois de dispensar Filip “pionas” Pionka, está tentando voltar à sua plena forma. No Grupo D, o SK Gaming está embalado com a recente vitória no Global Challenge Chengdu sobre seu arquirrival e deverá passar com tranquilidade pelo oXmoze, campeão da WCG 2007, mas que não vem obtendo bons resultados e pelo Amazing Gaming, time ucraniano que há muitos anos aparece no cenário internacional.
O Grupo E tem o mousesports como principal força. Os alemães voltaram ao centro das discussões e, mesmo após o 5/8 lugar no Global Challenge Chengdu, continua sendo um adversários que deve ser respeitado por sua história de conquistas. O Power Gaming, antes representando o Crack Clan, terá a oportunidade de provar à sua nova organização que merece o patrocínio. E habilidade não falta.
No Grupo F, o Team ALTERNATE pretende repetir a excelente campanha na última temporada da Extreme Masters, em que o time foi uma das surpresas da Final Global. Para isso, antes terá que enfrentar DTS.Chatrix, Roskilde Ravens, Unibet e outros.
O European Championship termina apenas em dezembro e, até lá, o site do MIBR fará a cobertura completa, atualizando as partidas e os resultados.
